Robert Lamb Civil War letters 1863

This collection consists of two letters from Robert Lamb, a Corporal in the 170th Regiment of the New York Volunteer Infantry (commonly known as Corcoran's Irish Legion) during the Civil War, to his brother and sister in New York. The letters were written by Lamb on February 18 and September 24, 1863, while Lamb was stationed in Virginia.

Robert Lamb is a native of Aiken, S.C., who grew up in Augusta, Ga., and is a graduate of the University of Georgia. In a journalism career spanning 20 years, he worked as a writer/editor for several newspapers, last with The Atlanta Constitution, and published free-lance articles in various newspapers and magazines.
